TEDxBellevue

TEDxBellevue was set up to provide a forum for community leaders to talk about and brainstorm around the theme of sustainable happiness. I was brought in to develop the identity and event materials, and to collaborate on the design of the website. The event needed a visual representation of the theme that conformed to TEDx brand guidelines, but be unique enough to set apart the event.

Developing the visual language

I developed a pattern that illustrated the event theme and the idea that as a community we are all intertwined. The figures in the pattern build upon each other, expanding and taking new forms. This pattern was applied to the design materials including the website and the event program.

Finalizing the mark

Applying the mark

The pattern was applied to the website and printed program in a variety of ways.

Key take aways

The final designs used imagery from the Getty Images library paired with the event tagline, “Life with Art”. The designed pieces included invitations, custom printed art-quote fortune cookies, and a series of slide presentations.
